Build your ceramic skills with expert artist Jeff Goss. All levels are welcome. This is a perfect class to stretch and grow your skills in a supportive environment. New students will learn at their own pace, incorporating handbuilding techniques like slab work and wheel-thrown elements, while those with more experience will benefit by learning new techniques and tips for their existing practice. Jeff will respond to individual interest and skill level to adjust class lessons and projects accordingly. The final project will include glazing and trimming.

Please note: Due to the time necessary for proper drying and firing of ceramic artwork, students should not expect to bring home finished work at the end of the class. All ceramic pieces will be fired and packaged within 2 weeks of the end of class, and students will be notified via email as soon as they are available for pickup.

Jeff Goss was born in Rochester, New York, and grew up in New England, where he developed a deep appreciation for quality craftsmanship. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Ceramics from Alfred University. After college, Jeff moved to Vermont to teach ceramics at Johnson State College, where he later met his wife, Megan. He went on to receive his Master's in Ceramics from Claremont Graduate University in California. In 1980, the couple returned to Stowe, Vermont, to raise their family. Jeff continued to refine his pottery craft while also enjoying the mountain lifestyle in Stowe. He primarily works with stoneware and porcelain, which he fires in a reduction atmosphere. https://www.stowekilnworks.com/
