Ceramicist Maddy Bertrand-Gerndt will teach students the “ins and outs” of how to cast a slump mold with plaster casting techniques to create a finished clay piece of art. Participants will use a slab roller to create a clay piece that will fit to the mold they created. Finally, they will explore surface decoration techniques such as sgraffito and brushed engobe/slip. Students will leave with a finished slump mold for future personal use, and a finished piece of ceramic art. Materials fee included for clay, glazes and kiln firings.
