This 2-hour workshop will take students through the fundamentals of working with watercolors, beginning with the interactions of paint and paper, color theory and mixing, and the use of textural brushstrokes. Emphasis will be on the technical skills involved in painting with watercolor and participants should expect to learn when and how to use different types of watercolor paper, techniques for capturing light and shadow, and how to layer watercolor to create the illusion of space and depth in their paintings.
