Explore the messy magic of the ceramics studio in this hands-on clay class! Students new to working with clay will learn the foundational skills of hand-building, including pinching, coiling, and glazing, while students already familiar with the clay studio will explore the use of texture tools, sculptural building, and painting with slip. This class also explores ceramic traditions around the world, comparing and contrasting forms and styles unique to a variety of cultures in the region.
 
Please note: Due to the time necessary for proper drying and firing of ceramic artwork, students should not expect to bring home finished work at the end of the class. All ceramic pieces will be fired and packaged within 2 weeks of the end of class, and students will be notified via email as soon as they are available for pickup.
