This class is open to all levels of throwing on the potter's wheel. The instructor will emphasize the fundamentals of wheel throwing with a variety of techniques and demonstrations. Demos will include centering, throwing basics, covering all the steps of wheel working, trimming, and fundamentals of shape. Weekly demos and teacher tips tailored to the individual. Practice various techniques, including surface decoration and texture, colored slip use, underglaze, and glazing. Each student will leave with a basic understanding of the fundamentals of wheel throwing and the steps involved in creating a great piece. Possibilities to add hand-built elements and glazing considerations will be covered. Get ready to have some fun and get dirty! This class will give you a great base to become a studio renter!
 
Included in class fee: 
Access to the ceramic studio during Open Studio hours, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, 9am - 2pm.
One 25lb bag of new clay (additional bags can be purchased at $30 + tax).
