Join Teaching Artist Chelsea Rich for a morning of stitching, mending, and making! Explore the use of found materials and the themes of sustainability and tradition in Chakiah Booker’s solo show before creating your own sustainably sourced work of art in the style of the slow fashion and visible mending movements.
Discover (or rediscover!) a passion for sewing and patchwork, turn your worn-out clothes into one-of-a-kind art pieces, or make a patchwork pillow and practice your stitching skills. Participants are invited, but not required, to bring one or more garments they’d like to mend. All other materials will be provided by The Current.
