2026 Annual Appeal

Leading The Current with audacious vision has been one of the great privileges of my life. I’m proud of our growth over the past 15 years. And I’m enormously grateful to all of you who make it possible—community supporters, amazing artists, enthusiastic students, engaged members, dedicated staff and teachers.

Financial support by donors like you has built The Current into a nationally recognized center for contemporary art. Thanks to you, we mount exhibitions worthy of major museums many times our scale. Your giving brings international artists who not only exhibit but conduct workshops with Lamoille County students. Where else could your kids get hands-on exposure to creativity and achievement of this caliber?

Beyond offering year-round art lessons for adults and children, we’ve established a vital partnership with Stowe Elementary School. We teach STEAM classes using cross-disciplinary 3D projects; it’s thrilling to see these students exploring, discovering, getting excited about learning.

Our outreach also includes making room in the Art Lounge for our Artists-in-Residence to create work and engage visitors. And we invite professionals in fields from ornithology to filmmaking to climate healing to give free public talks.

As I prepare to leave this organization at year’s end, my ardent plea is that you continue to support the outstanding opportunities The Current opens to children, artists, and the community.

Thank you for getting us where we are now and believing in the change we’re making. Just remember: every year, a bright future hinges on your donations. This year, please add 4% to your gift if you’re able.

Every dollar counts. No contribution is too large.

With high hopes and deep gratitude,

Rachel Moore, Executive Director + Director of Exhibitions
