Polly Motley, professional dancer and choreographer, will lead a body/mind session designed to release unnecessary tension and effort and help us move more easily in daily life.

Focused attention, especially to the out breath, will allow more space into the body as we rock, roll, twist, and take the time our bodies need to let go of unneeded effort.  This class is created to be accessible and easy, with exercises that begin on the floor and end on our feet.

Polly Motley dances, choreographs and  sings. Since 1985 she has worked with the interactive relationships of video and performance. She collaborates with video-artist Molly Davies to create large scale environments of multiple projections, light and performance.

Motley is interested in encouraging other people's singing, dancing and making, and her extensive experience gives her multiple reference points for promoting others’ creativity.  She was trained in traditional and experimental dance and vocal techniques, improvisation and contemplative practices.

She has taught at Middlebury College, Bennington College, University of Vermont, and the Naropa Institute among other schools and universities in the States and abroad.

Her work has been presented in New York by the Asia Society, the Baryshnikov Art Center, Danspace Project, The Kitchen, Dance Theatre Workshop and multiple venues in Europe, Japan and Indonesia.

She lives and works with Molly Davies in Stowe and Eleuthera.
