Exposed 2025

Curated by Rachel Moore, Exposed 2025 features both invited artists and artists selected through a competitive, juried open call. This year’s invited artists include Chakaia Booker, Christopher Curtis, and Woody De Othello. Open call artists John Crawford, Claudia Ravaschiere in collaboration with Michael Moss, Marcel Regueiro, and Christopher Yockey were selected by distinguished jurors DJ Hellerman, Deputy Director & Senior Curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland, and Lucas Cowan, Curator at Large for Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art and Curator of the Millennium Park Foundation in Chicago.

The artists of Exposed 2025 present bold, abstract works that celebrate the human creative spirit. Each sculpture invites viewers into a dialogue with the surrounding landscape, encouraging reflection, mindfulness, and a deeper awareness of Stowe’s natural beauty.

• Chakaia Booker’s Filtered Thoughts highlights inventive use of form and material to explore themes such as environmentalism, feminism, racism, and the African Diaspora, inviting viewers into dialogue and contributing to collective social change.

• John Crawford’s Branch uses fractal geometry to explore patterns of natural growth in an elongated, organic form.

• Christopher Curtis’s Sanctuary offers a contemplative frame through which to view the landscape, symbolizing peace and protection.

• Woody De Othello’s Some Time Moves Fast Some Time Moves Slow features a surreal clock and figure that blur the line between object and body, prompting reflection on how everyday systems imprint themselves on our physical experience.

• Marcel Regueiro’s New Beginnings, carved in granite, represents transformation and serves as a symbol of renewal for those embarking on new journeys.

• Christopher Yockey’s A Vow examines craftsmanship in the digital age, highlighting the value of risk, imperfection, and the expressive power of handwork.

Exposed 2025 continues The Current’s mission to make contemporary art accessible, inspiring, and embedded in everyday life. We invite the community and visitors alike to explore this unique

exhibition and experience the power of public art in Vermont’s scenic landscape.

Opening Festival: 

Saturday, July 12, 2025, 4-7 pm [FREE]. The Opening Festival will feature complimentary live music, a food truck, ice cream, beverages, and artist talks.
