About the Event
Join us for the opening reception of two new exhibitions:
a solo exhibition by Mary Mattingly
Drawing on her longstanding exploration of ecology and interdependence, Mattingly approaches water as an essential archive of histories and futures. The works on view are both intimate and expansive, offering poetic meditations on the ways water shapes lived experience and shared environments. Water Writes the Garden unites photographs, sculptures, and poetry around water’s role as a timekeeper and storyteller, considering how it shapes landscapes through cycles of formation and erosion. Gardens emerge in her work as cultivated yet fugitive, bearing witness to growth, loss, and renewal.
a solo exhibition by Giacomo d'Orlando
Presented at a time when the climate crisis is transforming marine environments and threatening the livelihoods of coastal communities, the exhibition is an urgent and visually arresting exploration of the profound relationship between humans and the sea. Drawing on years of research across coastal regions in Thailand, Indonesia, Australia, and the Philippines, d'Orlando reveals how the climate crisis is reshaping both ecosystems and the communities whose survival depends on them.
Admission is free and open to all.
