Discover the art of creative writing in this exciting new offering at The Current! Each week, students will explore a different genre, from poetry and personal essays to flash fiction and screenwriting. Classes will begin with a thought-provoking prompt and freewriting exercise, followed by an optional opportunity to share. Through fun, imaginative projects, writers will develop their own voices while experimenting with literary devices, dialogue, storytelling techniques, and more.
The session will culminate in a coffeehouse-style open mic, where writers are invited to share their work with friends and family. Participants will go home with a magazine that compiles each students' work.
