Take your sewing skills to the next level in this beginner-friendly to intermediate garment sewing class! Learn how to work from a sewing pattern to create a piece of clothing of your choice. With step-by-step instruction, participants will explore the garment-making process, from selecting and reading a pattern to measuring and cutting fabric, pinning pieces, and assembling their finished garment. Some familiarity with a sewing machine is recommended.
Please note: Participants are welcome and encouraged to bring their own sewing machines, fabric (old or new), thread, or patterns if they wish. However, all of these tools and supplies mentioned will also be provided by The Current for your use.
Students are encouraged to get creative and give new life to old clothing or fabric through upcycling.
There will be a 30-minute lunch on your own from 12:30 - 1 p.m.
