Unbroken Current

September 20 - November 9, 2019

Opening Reception: September 20, 5-7pm

Swamp surrounded by ferns and trees

The work in Unbroken Current investigates cultural and personal identity, social justice, and history through the lens of photography, painting, sculpture, and mixed media.

The six artists in Unbroken Current dive deeply into their respective narratives, ranging from an imaginative utopia or dystopia, to personal and contemporary, to ancestral and post-colonial. The work investigates personal and cultural identity, social justice, and history through the lens of photography, painting, sculpture, and mixed media. It weaves history through contemporary events like an unbroken current, from a combination of disparate histories and cultures that shape the artists as individuals.
