Have you ever wondered how we know what dinosaurs look like? What clues do scientists and artists use to create the detailed drawings and models we see at museums? Join scientific illustrator Charon Henning to learn exactly what goes into creating paleoart. Guided by Henning, who interned at the Raymond M. Alf Museum of Paleontology to complete her Scientific Illustration Certification, participants in this class learn how to get from fossil to finished art piece within a matter of weeks. Students will research and synthesize knowledge about a dinosaur’s bone structure, habitat, eating habits, and living conditions to create beautiful and informative works of art.
