This 3-session mini-series focuses exclusively on drawing the human face and form. Perfect for budding cartoonists and illustrators, this class takes students through the fundamentals of human proportions and scale, drawing materials and techniques, and shading to create depth and form. Each week students will begin with a series of quick sketches to practice capturing the line of movement and overall placement of light and shadow in their compositions before translating their sketches into finished works of art. Throughout the class, students will discuss techniques for foreshortening, drawing accurate skeletal and muscular anatomy, and specifics of capturing facial expressions. A not-to-be-missed opportunity, this primer in figure drawing allows students to develop confidence in their artistic ability and challenge themselves to learn new skills in just a few short weeks.
